NOTE: This review experience is based on Bloggers Invite Event and the food was on the house but experience and reviews shared are honest and unbiased in the interest of fellow readers and foodies.

The reason why I say that this restaurant is unique is due to the fact that it has four different facets to it, which makes it more than just a restaurant.

Besides it operating as a restaurant , GoNative also offers its customers trendy choices in fashion clothing and accessories as well as furniture and home decor. Adding to that, there is a retail store that has a cool collection of jewellery and bath supplies all carrying a touch of tradition and heritage. If that wasn’t enough they also host a variety of events as well.

The place gives out a vintage vibe which definitely manages to appeal to the senses. <3

RETAIL STORE

The range of collection on display is quite impressive ( as well as expensive). Lol.

Products such as tea bags, coffee powders, and jute bags were the first things that I noticed. Apart from that, there were these mirrors, I don’t know why, there was something about them that managed to catch my eye. The range as a whole had a rustic yet royal feel to it. And another thing I would like to add is that GoNative is strictly against the use of plastic.

There was a range of Channapatna toys collection which I REALLY liked. They had some unique toys for kids who would definately enjoy.

Pleasantly greeted by Ms.Anvita-To begin with, GoNative is a Jain friendly, pure veg restaurant, also serving vegan food with indoor as well as outdoor seating options.

An ideal choice for health conscious foodies who are looking for a unique, funky, quirky, twist to normal vegetarian cuisine. You will see what I’m talking about…

Beverages

MOUNTAIN ROSE TEA

Started off with this, the name in itself was very attractive as was the appearance of the drink. Nicely decorated with rose petals inside a tea bag, which added to the taste of this beverage.

RAGI BUTTERMILK

Ragi is my personal favourite, so anything with ragi is automatically quite tasty to me. Hence, it wasn’t surprising that I found this unique blend turn out this good.

CHOCO-PEANUTBUTTER SHAKE

I found this to be the tastiest out of all the beverages that I tried out, must have been the chocolate flavor.

VANILLA MINT SMOOTHIE

Another funky drink, it was nicely presented with a pudina leaf, and was good to taste.

Soups I tried

CARROT, COCONUT AND GINGER SOUP

I love spicy or tangy food, so naturally, this quirky combination was a delight to my taste buds and the coconut added a flavor to it which was surprisingly good.

PUMPKIN AND ORANGE SOUP

I would recommend this to people who would go for a slightly simpler and bland type of soup. The pumpkin flavour was so mild and it was perfectly made.

Starters I fell in love with

MANGALORE BUNS

I really enjoyed the combination of fried wheat and banana bread.A perfect evening snack.

PANIYARAM/ PADDU

The combination of crispy rice dumplings served with toamto chutney and drumstick sambar. It’s a common dish but I still like it.

BISI BELE MILLET FRITTERS

A really eye-catching name, another interesting mix combination of spicy millet balls deep fried and served with salad along with some chutney.

ALOO PATHA BHINDI CHAAT

As much as I liked it, I felt the palak in the dish could have been a little crispier, and the cold Aloo with sweet yogurt, tamarind and mint chutney  didn’t manage to do it for me.

PAV PLATTER

This had an exceptional taste which had Aloo and the perfect blend of ingredients that made me give a thumbs up for this starter.

BAKED SOYA CHEESE BREAD ROLLS

A  different dish with a unique look with bread stuffed with soya, spinach, cheese and flavoured with Indian spices.MUST HAVE*

Main course

BUN CHASKA

Grilled broccoli and cheese burger with grilled onions , tomatoes, zucchini and arugula served with tomato mustard relish and sweet potato fries.

PALAK KHICHDI

Red rice cooked with pureed spinach served with raw papaya poriyal and rice vadams.  I never knew that the red rice can make wonders with the combination of spinach. *hats off to the chef who brought this unique dish to the menu.

MASALA JOLAD ROTTI YENGAI

Jawar bread flavored with Indian masalas and served with brinjal curry and sprouts kosambri. The rotti was very soft along with the tasty brinjal curry. A good meal for 1 person.

SOPPU NEER DOSA

Spinach rice thin dosa served with vegetable gassi and coconut milk. I would suggest you all to try this*

RAGI PIZZA

Thin crust ragi pizza topped with tomato basil sauce, mozzarella cheese broccoli cherry, tomato, corn and pepper.

GO NATIVE SPECIAL THALI

Indian bread, flavored plain rice, salad ,palya, veg curry, curd rice, sweet , pickle, pappad.

I know what you guys must be thinking, “ so many dishes !”.yeah! that is the advantage to go with the other fellow foodies, you get to try everything:P

Feeling considerably full, I decided to take a short tour of the place once again, I must tell you guys, this place was a treat to your tummy as well as your eyes, very beautifully designed. This aspect of it makes for a good place to take some cool photos.

It also had a very homely atmosphere to it, cosy and comforting, at the same time being uniquely exotic with all the attractive furniture that was around. There was also a little something for those who are reading enthusiasts with a nice tiny bookshelf containing some interesting titles.

After spending a few more moments looking around I felt my sweet tooth convincing me to move onto the desserts. ☺

Desserts

MILLET PANCAKES

Ragi pancake served with mango, vanilla ice cream and muesli topping.

HALUBAI PLATTER

North Karnataka dish with 3 flavors ; rice, ragi and wheat.

Really, really, really sweet because it was made of honey and jaggery.

MATKA VANILLA PUDDING WITH GULAB JAMUN

Vanilla pudding stuffed with dry gulab jamun and nuts. Definitely my favorite dish out of the entire menu <3

After being mesmerized by the vanilla pudding a for a little while longer it was finally time for me to bring it to an end ☹

There was so much to see and get to know about as well, everything from the retail store collection to the food options on the menu was interesting to say the least.

Every dish on the menu will ask for your attention, that I can assure you.We also discussed with the chef about the things to be changed and to make necessary changes in future and gave our honest feedback.

Never thought that vegetarian food could be this fun. 😀
